Hailing from Germany, Dr Wiedey has been accredited as an independent expert by the German Health Authorities. With over 30 years experience in clinical research, Dr Wiedey has been with ECRON since its inception in 1995   ECRON is the brainchild of Dr Wiedey - a physician and specialist in clinical pharmacology, who started Dr Wiedey GmbH in Constance in 1986 after having worked in research based pharma companies like Basotherm, Boehringer Mannheim amongst others. The original sole proprietorship business focused on individual customer care was the first CRO in Germany to integrate electronic handling for the step by step expansion of its business activities. The company's collaborations with a French CRO in 1992 enabled international projects in European Countries to be handled. Gradually, the Company set up a service base consisting of comprehensive guidelines and rules related to clinical research, which have received tremendous popularity amongst clients and sponsors. This was the beginning of a knowledge company, where information was shared with the industry through seminars on relevant topics in clinical research. All these developments led to the inception of ECRON GmbH in 1995 with Dr Wiedey GmbH being the majority shareholder in the new company.   From here, Dr Wiedey took the company to new locations with their HQ being relocated to Frankfurt. He opened avenues in the US with the alliance with Advanced Biomedical Research, Inc. Princeton known as ECRON ABR. The establishment of server stations in Frankfurt and New York are characteristic of the innovative power of the growing company led by Dr Wiedey. Dr Wiedey chose the name ECRON to showcase the international cooperation of experts in clinical research - the expert CRO. What began as a one man show today is a company with over 80 employees in Frankfurt and 450 people worldwide, by the vision of the expert Dr Wiedey. His focus on 'being one step ahead of guidelines' has resulted in strong linkages with approval agencies in various countries globally. This has made the company equipped with the know-how of country specific problems.   Dr Wiedey's vision has resulted in an expansive company, with new avenues being explored through AcuNova Life Sciences in Asia   Adding to Dr Wiedey's entrepreneurship strides, are his memberships with some prestigious organizations where he continues to contribute to the development of the industry. Some of the memberships include the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics, the European Forum for Good Clinical Practice as well as the International Society for the Economic Evaluation of Medicines amongst others. He is also a speaker at various international forums on subjects related to clinical trials and research.   Dr Wiedey is an alumnus of Albert Ludwig University, Freiburg from where he graduated (Medizinisches Staatsexamen (State Exam) and was shortly thereafter awarded his license to practice medicine. His key specializations include: clinical pharmacology and medical informatics. He is also certified by DGPharMed with a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine. > next
