AcuNova Life Sciences (ALS), based in New Jersey and California, is the operating subsidiary of Manipal AcuNova. Incorporated in Delaware in March 2005, ALS is owned 100% by Manipal AcuNova Ltd., one of the leading independent global specialty contract research organizations based in Bangalore, India.

ALS offers a broad range of clinical development services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Our passionate customer service, focused therapeutic expertise and global reach have allowed Manipal AcuNova to grow rapidly, building a blue chip client list in the process. We provide an attractive package of services coupled with the ability to rapidly conduct clinical trials utilizing a world class delivery platform.

ALS is focusing on developing customers in the major North American and European concentrations, such as the mid-Atlantic region, the West Coast, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. The company emphasizes strategic alliances with specialty CROs and providers of specialty services. The team at ALS brings a diverse set of competencies, including backgrounds in imaging services and cardiac safety monitoring in clinical trials, patient recruitment and conducting rescue trials.

Dr. Kohkan Shamsi, PhD

Kohkan Shamsi, MD PHD President & CEO of ALS brings nearly 14 years of experience in clinical research and healthcare services. As an experienced executive, he understands the issues that confront the scientific and medical research community. Dr.Shamsi works with our customers in a proactive manner to design and implement practical solutions to efficiently and economically conduct clinical research programs. His experience in medical imaging and diagnostic agents is invaluable to ALS.

Mr.Kal Chatto

Mr. Kal Chatto, who has co-founded and laid the foundation of ALS, brings wealth of experience in bio pharma having spent over a decade at Amgen two decades at industry leaders, including Amgen and Glaxo Inc..

The team works under the mentorship of Dr Dinesh Patel – popularly known as the father of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals in the Mountain West region, whose guidance is available to the team on clients and alliances.
